Radiofrequency microneedling matched CO2 laser scar improvement with less downtime.

In a randomized split-face trial, radiofrequency microneedling and fractional CO2 laser both improved facial atrophic acne scars, but microneedling radiofrequency was linked to shorter redness, pain, swelling and scab-detachment time and fewer post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation events. Treatment choice still depends on scar type, skin tone, downtime tolerance and physician technique.
