Start with the indication: the precise anatomical or functional finding the procedure is intended to treat—and why that approach fits better than the alternatives.
Facial fat transfer may be considered for multi-area volume loss—such as hollow temples, deflated cheeks or contour discontinuity—when the patient has a usable donor area and prefers autologous tissue. It is less precise than a tiny amount of filler and some transferred fat will not survive. Significant jowling or tissue descent usually requires lifting or structural treatment rather than adding volume alone.
The indication above defines the anatomical problem the procedure can address. It cannot promise symmetry, stop aging or correct concerns that arise from a different tissue layer.
Timing varies by procedure and healing; early swelling, firmness or asymmetry should not be mistaken for the final contour.
