Face and neck liposculpture is considered for localized, pinchable submental or jawline fat in a patient near a stable weight whose skin has enough elasticity to contract around the new contour. It does not correct loose skin, prominent glands, a small chin or separated platysma bands. When one of those structures is the main cause, a neck lift, platysmoplasty, chin treatment or observation may be more appropriate.
The indication above defines the anatomical problem the procedure can address. It cannot promise symmetry, stop aging or correct concerns that arise from a different tissue layer.
